THE SECOND NATIONAL CONGRESS ON IRANOLOGY STUDIES.
Tehran, December 11-16, 2004.The Conference was devoted to iranology studies, and attracted participants from many countries of the world. The conference was opened by prime-minister and minister of foreign affairs of Iran. Besides, there was organized a big exhibition of ancient and medieval maps with images of Persian Gulf. Big group of scientists came to this Conference from Azerbaijan. Most of them were iranologists, historians and philologists from the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS). The paper of Prof. Farid Alakbarli was devoted to medieval Persian manuscripts on medicine and pharmacy, which are kept in the Institute of Manuscripts of ANAS. Prof. Shahin Fazil spoke about historical manuscripts in Persian. The participants visited the Golestan Palace (18th-19th c.AD) and some other historical sites of Tehran.
